The Smell of Juniper

This flimsy sheet of metal

That’s mere inches from my face

Just won’t let me sleep tonight

It keeps whispering to me in the darkness

It keeps telling me it’s you

As I turn my back to it,

From my right shoulder to the left

This wall reaches out and grabs

With arms like yours

With breath like yours

It even cries the exact same

I can hear it sobbing in the darkness
